Getting them to fire at the Sea Shepherds is the point, and unless the Sea Shepherds crew is stupid they know this. Once Japanese whalers cross that line the Shepherds win. The back lash towards Japan will be harsh and Japan knows this. Same reason the cove was so shunned there. As far as the risk of the Sea Shepherds getting hurt if shots are fired, not that likely as shoting at a moving target from a moving target isn't that easy. Add to that the fact that they are banned from owning personal firearms the chances drop to near zero.

If those sea faring peasants are dumb enough to shot they will be in really hot water with respect to maritime law. Civilians with guns on ships is a very big no no.

Can you imagine that the last of its kind is sitting in your tank? We need more people to stand up for all animals. We will soon find ourselves with much less to look at. I love them. Japan murders those poor dolphins in the cove. They just don't care.

Wow. Uh... that took forever to read.

And also, maybe the reason that SSCS doesn't just sink whaling ships in the Southern Ocean is that an accident like that would result in people dying, many people dying, and by what would THEN be known as piracy, and they would all get the death penalty:screwy: And this whole battle is about Whales. If they just sunk the ship, it wouldn't be about Whales anymore. And also, if the SSCS tried to "do damage", they would be pirates. International law states that pirates can be killed on sight with no trial. And the Whalers have the means to do that. So SSCS trying to damage Japanese ships... is not a good idea, at all.
 
Kudos to the sea shepard for doing something about it.No one else is.No one is willing to say peep to japan cause of their power in international trade and finance.
So their methods are wacky and they are a thorn in the industries side at best.At least they are doing something about this situation where a country is openly urinating on international agreements.Agreements to protect animals that many believe could be as intelligent as humans.
Being willing to put your life on the line for your beliefs is true courage.

uhhhh look it up on youtube, the whaling ship changed quickly changed direction and the ady gill was in the same place. you could say they could have/should have tried to move, but i think we can agree to disagree.
 
No matter the risks of lives, these ppl are doing what they think is right and i fully support their actions however crude their tactics are.They do what they can when they can. The crew of the Sea Sheppard/Bob Barker and the Addy Gil are Heros in my eyes.
 
don't knwo anythign about the topic but will say the above prompted me to watch the southpark episode and it was rather hilarious.
 
Lol I thought it was hilarious when the little speed boat got ran over. I knew it was just a matter of time till something like that happened.
