They maybe a nuisance but comparing them to say Somalia pirates is flagrant stupidity.

Like the ban on Asian Arowanas (including captive breeding) or the flagrant stupidity of HR669. Yes government has solved these with stunning effect. Yes government regulations is always the best solution.

Note: The government is the public sector, were you trying to say private sector?

No, They ARE pirates, they will admit to this. Just look at their freaking banner- it is for all intents and purposes, a jolly roger.

from dictionary.com:

–noun 1. a person who robs or commits violence at sea or on the shores of the sea.

As for the government regulation, I agree that they are not very effective but do you really think that either throwing stink bombs onto a boat or risking peoples lives by ramming other boats or trying to board boats is going to do anything either?

^ lmao that was great

Stink bombs and stupidity isn't violence, however that could be a simple question of perspective. Being a nuisance and holding people at gun point for ransom or killing people are not comparable, again personal view point. Pirates kill, rape and steal unless you want to go by the Disney version of the term. ALF is a terrorist organization, ELF is also terrorist organization.

Then where is all this scientific data they are collecting? NOAA data is public. You show me a link to the data they collected.

I don't have a link and I'm not saying they publish their data. I was pointing out the fact that what they are doing is being done legally. I think you missed the point.

Flagrant stupidity, no, they are pirates. Opinion on their methods is irrelevant. They fit the definition by their actions in regards to maritime law.

I suppose you think the lacey act, endangered species act, pittman-robertson act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, Wildlife Refuge System, BLM, NRCS, National Parks Service, USFWS, United States Forestry Service, EPA and all other government organizations and legislation devoted to maintaining a healthy ecosystem are obsolete as well??

I say what I mean and I mean what I say. The government is not public, it is federal. Public is the private sector.

I certainly hope you are willing to back up such a bold statement with more than just opinions. Please do tell me how the majority of things listed here are obsolete and more trouble than they are worth:
Lacey act
Endangered species act
Pittman-Robertson act
Marine Mammal Protection Act
Wildlife Refuge System
Bureau of Land Management
Natural Resource Conservation Service
National Parks Service
United States Fish and Wildlife Service
United States Forestry Service
Environmental Protection Agency

I'm sure if you could muster up a substantial argument you could write your local senator and save all of us thousands a year in taxes so please don't be shy.;)
