Second time WHY ME!!!

This is the second time this has happened to me, first time was with my male aparicio about a year ago. This time it was my male flower and the bad part is it was his own stinger that he shed sometime last night!

Wen stingrays shed their stingers how long does it usually take? I had a motoro for a while about a month and still hasn't shed. And if they shed it will there be a stinger already in the tail or do you have to wait for it to grow back?
