Theirs a pet store near me and they have fish like this, more the just parrot fish, gouramies and others. And their's a sign on the tank saying that the fish are not harmed. BULL SH*T. I hate that place. I never buy anything from their.

This is probably how some guy in a very depressed third world type country, is able to buy food for his kids. Aren't starving children a little more upsetting then some fish with a tattoo?

i hate people who can't accept that fish have NATURAL beauty, instead they tattoo them. SICK B****RDS!!

:ROFL:What exactly is "natural" about blood parrots?

Well, a blood parrot doesn't go through pain. A dyed/tattooed fish does.

That reminds me of an incident posted here...someone stole a tag from a tank in PetCo containing baby Pacu labelled as "Non-Aggressive Piranha." You should do that :D

lol, I want to write an extra zero on the label at petSmart, changing the pacu from 30g to 300g.

gets my blood boiling when i see this, i am glad to say though that in my area at least this seams to be pretty much gone, they were all over a few years ago, but have seemed to stop. I dont know if anyone has read articles on how they do that, DIP THEM IN AN ACID BATH TO REMOVE THERE SLIME COAT, TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WATER AND INJECT THEM WITH NEEDLES, THEN THROW EM BACK IN THE WATER. i read somewhere like 80% dont even make it out of the farms where they do this

I've read something similar and yeah, the mortality rate is close to if not more than 80% of the fish, which in a lot of ways makes me wonder why bother doing it, when the amount the sell the fish for is about the same as the non-tattooed ones... (at least where i'm from)

But are the dyed ones tatooed to be that whiteish color?
And also, I believe it was Bigspizz had a pair of two-toned Blood Parrots. There is considerable variation in the natural color of them too.

They naturally come in pale shades like that sometimes

Well if anyone lives in the Seattle Washington area, I would be happy to tell you the store these fish I took that pic of are in, I don't want to post it live here just incase it could be "slander" or something. Better to be safe than sorry I guess. lol. Just PM me if you want to know. :)
