I think your ready, its just your tank is to small for even the smallest of all rays. You should check out www.Glassscages.com. they have amazing tanks. Im looking at a tank that is 4ft. by 4ft. by 25 in. which gives a ray a lot of floor space. And it is 240 gallons. Also you should check out www.freshwaterstingray.nl, for more info.

I am planning to upgrade my tank within the year, this is just a starter tank. My husband and I are planning to construct a 300 gal. tank in the near future, hopefully before Christmas. How long will the 125 gal tank surfice, before I can get a more perminant home ready?
consider for adult motoro's 8x4x2... my friend has a 19" female and it makes his pond look small.... so a 300 wont be any kind of permanent home.... also the 125 if you buy a pup will last for a few years...
The 300 gal tank I am looking at is 96X30X30... I guess I will need to look into going bigger then that, huh... I was planning on getting a pup, but can't find anyone that has them...
Check with the vendors on this site for pups. Rosewood022 from Amazon Stingrays breeds Motoros and the prices are very reasonable.
The blue-spotted stingray in your avatar is one of the most difficult saltwater rays to keep. They are absolutely stunning though. When I was in Sharm El Sheikh I saw quite a few of them. The most beautiful aquatic creature I've ever seen in the wild. A tough species to keep in a tank, even for seasoned pros.
Yeah, they are very unique... Very beautiful creatures... I have never had the oppertunity to see them in the wild, maybe some day. It will definatly be on my list of things to do... They are very hard to come by on the market, I have only found one place that sell them and they have them priced pretty reasonable... $115.00, which is way cheaper then I have been able to find Motoro's for... Kind of weird, huh....
I think there is a pretty high demand for moto's but I don't think there are a ton of people that can keep the blue-spot alive for long. Motoro's are very hardy.
Yeah I can see that, its just that every store or breeder I have talked to have referenced the looks. Their price is based on how attractive the specimen is. You could get the same size and species at a higher price if it is prettier... I don't know maybe I am being too harsh....
