Senegals - WC vs CB!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Apparently it is doable. But not necessary right now since my tetras are conditioned and I'm going to hopefully spawn them tomorrow :D

Apparently snails are very important for cultures
Interesting. I never intentionally kept snails in mine...sometimes inadvertently some would get introduced. I have a small culture going right now in my basement that I haven't checked in a while. Don't really need them right now.

I'd like to if I could but it's too much work for me right now.

I have some interesting footage that I'll upload and link on tonight. Regarding movement outside of water :)

Bad update! :(

I noticed nibblet clamped onto the anal fin of toothless the other day and having a bit of a go, this lasted for about 5 seconds before she let go and both fish darted either way. A week later I still haven't seen anything like that since. They totally avoid each other apart from at feeding time with nibblet at the bottom and toothless around the top mainly and rarely interact. Weirdly aggression is super rare.

So this means a third poly is under consideration, on top of a big rescape I have planned. What that poly would be though is a tough choice.
Eventually my syno will be going, so final stocking would be 3 polys and 2 knives.

Would this be a good plan of action?

My first choice is a delhezi, but from the importer toothless came from they are $30 each for a 4" fish. It's too much to easily afford :(

Sorry to hear that. Did she do damage?

What are your more inexpensive options? Is the $30 Del WC? Maybe you can get a CB one.

I'm not sure of any of the smaller UJs that would be less expensive outside of an albino sen if you want something different (and I think you should do something different for fun.)

But of course I only know the US market, too. Or maybe you can get a fish from a different source?

No damage as of yet. I've noticed a slight dent in one fin but may not be a bite.

I'm fairly sure it's a CB given the size. That's the going price around here, actually cheap.

Only others are palmas complex I think. Some are available by importer but I heard that they can be aggressive.

Albino sens are also expensive. Only sens are found in stores

Slight dent on the right fin. Nibblet is still chasing toothless off

Accidental double post.

yeah I saw my first aggression yesterday to my regular sen Damn It grabbed my polli's tail for a couple seconds the funny thing is my polli didn't seem to care and just turned around and layed next to him. No damage just strange

Your prices are all over the place there. LOL You got a 6" WC Sen for like $10 but your 4" CB Dels are $30, and albinos are expensive. This is like the complete opposite of the game over here. ;)

So.... we just cannot advise you on price from the US - let us know what types you can afford and we can give you our preferences from there.

Palmas complex = Palmas Palmas and Palmas Buettikoferi.
I will say I personally had an aggressive WC P. Palmas but was told that this isn't very common. I don't think I've heard of the Buettikoferis being aggressive, most say they are shy.

Can you get a Polli? I just love mine so much. She's an active goofball pig who doesn't bother anyone. She swims a lot and comes to greet me at the tank glass. Of course not all Pollis are like this but I do read that they are active as a whole and I don't generally hear of them being aggro.
