Ignoramus says what? LMAO!
If you don't know anything about Flowerhorns, would you mind shutting the hell up? :screwy:

Just start to have little respect for others please. It's a much nicer place for everybody then.

On this forum if someone says something we disagree with we tend to either ignore it or to discuss rationally with them, explaining our opinion. It's simply not acceptable to just respond with juvenile insults.

not as bad as i thought it was going to be. lots of nice FH's. and besides we dont really know the real story maybe its setup just for the video...who knows? perhaps they are happy? they look nice and active. if some of you are saying this is cruel this and that...then it must be cruel when some of you feed feeders and other live things to their monsters?

Breeders have secrets that they need to protect on how to keep these fish for a long time without having them die or get sick...
Hobbyists on the other hand tend to buy a huge tank for a single FH... They pamper their fh with all things money can buy only to find out that even perfectly cared for FH tend to die due to SUDDEN DEATH SYNDROME in 1-3 years... Business is business, breeders breed FH that live for only a couple of years so that hobbyists will buy another one to replace the one that died... :-)

There are no "secrets" to keeping fish healthy for many years, besides starting with a fish with sound genetics, keeping the fish in good quality water & a stress free environment, and supplying a quality diet.
If that's supposed to be a secret, someone must have spilled the beans several decades ago.

Sudden death syndrome can be the result of many things, with FH one of the primary causes is most likely weak genetics due to recessive genes being piled up. This is what happens when one is not careful about building a strain of fish with strong immune system, and only focuses on physical traits, such as size of kok, length & shape of fins, color/pattern, etc. It's actually quite common in many man made strains of fish, or strains that have been overly inbred.

that really is shocking... haha look at the two highest rated comments.

wow how did it get this far?
that particular organisation = ignorance.
i guess u know that for their videos they pay the slaughtermen to make the animal suffer? god i dont know where to begin with them, they are awful.
lets face it, if ur a slaughterman theres obv something emotionally wrong with u.

my food is free range and killed in a way im happy with, not that i really eat meat because i was bought up next to a hunt so was regularly round the slaughterhouse, kinda puts u off.

i think thats all. i think some people need to look in to these 'do gooder' organisations and realise what their really about.

All I know is that it would save our drug companies MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars if the FDA allowed them to skip animal testing and go right to humans. You know those PETA folks would have to line right up to be our test subjects with all of their bellowing about animal testing....

hahaha i like your thinking!

i dont agree with animals testing BUT the best way my mum put it to me was "if you were going to die but could have a pill that had been tested on animals and saved your life, what would u do? take it and life or not take it and die?"
i dont really take anything anyway, im a woman lol i tough it out if im sick...unless im actually really ill then obv id take it.

we did some tests on humans over here about 5 or 6 years ago......didnt end well, but they got paid for it lol.

i think prisoners and people against animal testing should b tested on. at least they can say how they feel.
