i live in an apartment that only allows small dogs. if i get a small dog then i'm one step away from owning a blue prius, wearing skinny jeans and rainbows and saying fabulous all the time

not true, there's way more potential dogs then potential owners, they're put down because they can on longer house it, regardless of temper. the ones people think are cute and the youngs are always the first to get adopted, the rest can stay in a facility for a month, eventually they're put down if they can't find someone to take them in. i have no clue where you live but that's how it goes down in the 4 cities i've had the fortune of living in. for some odd reason, i enjoy going to the humane society and animal shelters but i never adopt
Are you serious...how is my post not true.
If a dog is too violent to adopt, among OTHER reasons, they will put it down.
Not true?!
Very true.

Un-real...then you ice this cake by saying, and I quote..."i have no clue where you live"...you type all that, just to step on your own toes and not even know you did it?
Exactly just that...you have no clue.
Then there are people telling the OP to mind his own business!!!
Definitely a different MFK than I remember...

Honestly, it's not really affecting you... I would leave it be.

If your really upset about it; rather than being negative and turning him in and starting something, why don't you and your son have some quality time together building a dog house for the poor things? Might be a good learning experience for your kid, and make him a better person. (idk how old your son is... this assuming hes still in elementary school :P)

Thats just me though... I believe what goes around comes around... karma's a b*tch

it's illegal to tie your dog to a tree/post/door in your own yard? Instead of flaming me take all emotions out of it and inform me, i'm asking a legit question

Every state is different but for most it's shelter, food, water, rabies shot and vet care when needed. Tying a dog to a tree would be lawful if you also provided a shelter it could get to, food and water.

As for the dog being left outside, alot of people buy these "bad *ss" breeds of dogs thinking it makes them "the man" the problem is that most aggressive breed types of dogs or very smart breeds types of dogs need extra training to become well behaved pets, due to their size if you don't train them it can be a horror show, so they throw them outside instaed of giving them the time they deserve to be trained. Training needs to start they day you bring them home, We would read alot less of these awful stories about these bigger breeds of dogs causing property or phyisical damnage even death if people would train and socialize them properly. If a chihuahua bites you it will probably hurt and tick you off, if a large dog bites you it can be a whole different story.

People shouldn't be flaming anyone who asks a real question.

What Animal Control would do then is try and adopt them out.
If that's the type of facility that goes to that great length.
If the dogs pass the necessary tests to qualify for the adoption then they will try and adopt it out.
If they fail adoption tests...well, they put them down.

Actually some states / towns / cities put bully and fighting breed dogs down as soon as they come into the shelters. So if it is a specific breed, the rescues are usually the better bet and most Breed rescues are placed in people homes. till they are adopted out.
