Thanks for the nice words.

You're a good kid with a lot of heart. I've read a lot of your posts and you seem to enjoy this hobby, but life has many facets to explore. It's rare when we find something that can hold our attraction and attention for a large amount of time. For me, keeping fish is calming and relaxing, but can be frustrating at times.
I know that whatever decision you make, you will be supported by this forum and your dad you have described and written about in the past. I am sure most on here would support you in whatever you decide to do and may just have knowledge to share with another interest.

Wow I just read up on Autism and I'm pretty sure that's what my problem is.

Anyway I dont think you should completely leave maybe cut down a bit would be a good idea...
hey buddie, I really doubt you have autism. I used to work with kids like that. (btw bogwoodbruce, I am very impressed that you can do so well, all of the kids I worked with were no where near at your level.) ADD, and ADHD have a lot of similar characteristics as autism. actually there has been a lot of controversy as to whether they are the same thing just varying degrees of it and where the dividing line is. but chances are you just have one of those.

sorry to hijack the thread, just some interesting bits of info.

Don't give up on it bogwood, I went for a good year without any tanks set up, and it was terrible. I really missed it. I am with the rest, keep your options open.:)

why not take one tank down and make one SW :D
maybe it's not lack of time but lack of passion that's fueling the downward spiral. i mean i'd hate to keep you from things that are really important to you (more so than fish keeping), but i'd also hate to see you give up something you love so much. :(

worse comes to worse i'll take your rtgg :D;) :naughty: :grinno:  :( :irked: :D

Bruce,

you're a good kid and you've been nice to me when others weren't and i value that a LOT. If you quit fish keeping i would miss you terribly. I think most of the other advice you got was good, cut down.. step back a little, but never quit, keeping fish is good for the soul.

Try cars :) Your fifteen :) Autism isn't stopping you from driving is it :) With those tanks... HHmm You would probabl;y own a pimpin ride inside a couple years :)

I think if you were really going to leave the hobby that you would have done it by now...You just need a little breathing space along with some close support. Fishkeeping is a great hobby but it can be a seductive and expencive addiction. Just keep it down to the level that it's fun and don't let anyone give you any grief about ONLY having one tank...

Remember....he who dies with the most toys...is still just as dead...

Who needs other hobbys? Buy more tanks... (Spirit of mfk.. lol)

Seriously though I would downsize a little. IMO I would try to keep the rio(since you want to keep it) and the 6x2x2 since that's your largest and hardest to aquire. IF you can still have other hobbys you want to participate in while doing fishkeeping. Just my opinion I guess. And I would agree don't sell everything you'll regret it.

I wouldn't give it all up. For what you do give up, keep the gear incase you want to use any of it later. I am not sure of the exact fish you keep, but remember there are other fish out there besides the Monsters which would require a little less maintenance, but still bring you just as much joy.
