Should I rescue this Oscar??

Good job an oscar is the best aquarium fish to have. If the GT gets along with that convict the chances are he'll get along with your oscar.

hey an fx5 is a great filter but kinda pricy. I have one in a 200g and it works great. I also have an eheim 2217 for my 50 gallon I got off ebay for $110 and it is very low maintence.

Yeah there's no way I could afford a full-price FX5 but a seller on ebay has them for $150 and he's gotten great reviews, so I think I'll go that route.

Yeah they're in a 55g right now with two blood parrots. It's a little tight but there's only minor chasing. I just can't wait to get them in the big tank.

I think its a bit odd that people pay hundreds for tanks and equipment, but hardly anything (relatively) for the fish.

At my favourite LFS, they have a 6ft tank with around seven-eight 8-12" oscars for $60 each or 2 for $100. They all have great colours and no abnormalities but I can't figure out why they just don't sell. Just for the record, $60 is cheap.
