Hi there, looking for some help with my black barred silver dollars - they have bloody type marking on them - see photos. I’ve tried stress coat, massive water changes, smaller water changes, parasite treatment, ich treatments (although there are no white spots on any fish) they are eating ok. All water parameters are fine - no nitrates etc. Any suggestions?
It’s only affecting 2 out of the 5 dollars? Today they have lost there black bars too :(

Hi other tank mates are plecs, gouramis, red tail tinfoil barbs, tiger barbs, peppered and bronze Cody’s, severums, Acaras and an angel fish and mollys. I’ve watched them hard to make sure no fighting is going on and nothing picks on them, they are the biggest things in the tank.

Tbh size doesn't mean anything. You should have Nitrates or your aquarium is not properly cycled. What size aquarium do you have the fish in?

Looks like scrape marks to me.
Yeah - I have seen them scratching against things - forgot to mention that. But why would they be scratching if it’s not ich or a parasite or if it is a parasite - I guess I need to know which one so I can treat it for the exact one, as the one I’ve been using hasn’t worked. :(

Just reread your thread with the large wc's possible not to have Nitrates. I personally would observe the aquarium for awhile from a distance to see if the Black Barred SD's are being harrassed. Possibly by the other SD's.

Ok that explains it. I would suggest discontinue the meds and add salt with your wc's and hopefully that will help.

Thank you, I’ll have to take the corys out but salt sounds like the next direction. Thanks
