Anyone ever try netting small fry....especially with gravel in tank? Pain in the ass! Easier to suck them out with a hose....won't hurt them at all.

Ultimately, if I could put them in the 40, this would be ideal. I'm just not sure what a proper size would be to do this. The house thing is a great idea.

Why you worried about when & at what size to remove them? I separate the eggs from the parents as soon as I know they're fertilized...this eliminates the risk of them being eaten. They're fine on their own.

I figured the move from one tanks chemistry to another's would result in dead fry. If this is possible now I would much rather put my fry in the 40 ASAP.

I would justt leave them alone as a family and enjoy them as a family for the moment.

I wouldnt worry about those fry. There are lots of fry you gotta raise, and parrots arent rare, and you can't keep them all anyways, and you have a pair in hand.

you can leave fry there and remove parents.

or syphon them into same water. It is totally safe

I'm thinking about siphoning the water from the tank they're in now into the 40 and setting the temp at exactly what the tank they're in is at and moving them along with the parents into the 40. What you guys think?

Raising fry in the 40 would be a lot of work because you'd be doing a lot of water changes on them a lot if your feeding them right. I'd leave them in the largest volume of water as you can. If anything set up a divider and leave the parents with their fry.

You have something VERY rare and special. Can you imagine how much the possibly fertile fry can sell for but also how it could change the Hybrid / Flowerhorn hobby. Good luck hopefully you raise them all.

Thanks! I think I have something special! The 40 will continue to be uninhabited for a while due to my monster KML head butting his heater and shattering the glass. So the Heater I had for the 40 will have to go into his tank. But, I like the fry in the 125 anyways. I didn't feel like moving them. Plus, they're doing okay in there so far.
