channa argus i beleive can handle the cold, thats why argus are also banned in the uk unless you have a special permit

Didnt know they could handle the cold. They are banned in lots of states here in USA with Florida being one of them.

HI,

in florida there are marulioides which are tropical, in the Poptomac there are argus which come from the Amur region in northern China/southern sibiria they can stand cold waters.

Argus can withstand the cold because they go into hibernation. They bury themselves into the mud, and can even survive months in completely frozen over ponds/lakes.

Thanks . Actually had no idea there were several types of snake heads as have only seen one type in pet store just assumed only 1 type sold.

i have caught one in tunkhannock... unfortunatley he swallowed the hook (killed itself). the last few winters have been kind to these fish giving them enough time to hibernate or acclimate to these temperatures. Its too bad we have retards letting them go. I would love to have a blue galaxy snakehead. Or we have law obiding idiots^. if you can venture further north check out the fish markets in china town...

thats in Thailand. Florida doesnt have mountains
I guess you've never heard of Mt. Dora. I've been to it's summit several times. It's the tallest peak in the Florida Mountain Range.

Just kidding. Actually, Mt. Dora is just as flat as the rest of Florida. :D

These fish have evolved. They have been seen walking the streets of DC>
I highly doubt that i live in dc and am a avid fisher and i have never ever ever seen one snake head walking dc streets or in the Potomac river for that matter.

Were is every one fishing i have never seen a snake head in the Potomac i heard on the news they were being coughs but never seen one in person. So where are these spots were every one is seeing them at i would love to catch one. Just thinking about fighting one of those things in a tug of war gets me so fired up man.
