I thought that my point was rather obvious, Miguel, that being there's clearly more than just one view on the various subjects that have been raised in this discussion. I think that valid points have been raised by both sides, and I was just adding my 2 cents worth.

That, and this ain't the same MFK that it used to be .........

i'm late to the party but i think some of these "old timers" with huge tanks would have stopped posting regardless of what the general attitude/feedback on the site was. it's just a natural cycle. i mean honestly, after they've been here THAT long, what can they stand to learn and gain from the site?

Agreed, that and some got sick of some of the idjits on this site, and some (gasp) were even banned. I can think of a few that would fit all 3 of those scenarios.

it's unfair to place the blame on current members for something that most likely would've happen naturally

Exactly. I have many friends in the hobby who use to be members on this site but they all left because of all the nagging, complaining etc. What I noticed is all the good information learning threads were from the old threads. All the recent threads are all just bashing out on each other. I sometimes even think of joining my friends and leaving this site too and if this continues I think I will...

most fish we keep too are tank/captive raised anyway correct? Taking something from the wild and tanking it (im guilty of this) is most likely a huge change but as stated..unlimited food no preds ect.

Point understood, Neill. Of course there are arguments that are valid on both sides. Falming and bashing, however, are none of that.

I completely agree. I just signed up and honestly, there isn't much learning or collaborating going on. Just people flaming each other and telling people off. The only place that doesn't have a lot of arguing is the lounge, which can't be good for a fish forum.

Just checking out this thread for 1st time, alot posts! Pic sure does look overstocked, if real pic. Read sum1 saying imagine yourself in overcrowded area like that, n My thought was Times Square NY.

I would not stock a tank like that, but not all fish dislike crowds.

lol, popular opinion would see things differently on the lounge claim. honestly you haven't been around long enough to notice what the sites like. there's wealth of knowledge on this site, especially in the stickies which often don' show up on "recent thread".

however, i'll admit i'm judging you on your join date and not your personal experience with fish keeping and wither or not you can hit the site running or have to be brought up to speed on the basics. So maybe i'm wrong

i'm just sick of the finger pointing with old school vs new school. the internet has changed, alot. especially if we're comparing 5+ years ago to the access everyone has to the site today. no longer do you have to log onto your pc at home. People are logging on everywhere from their smart phones/tablets with just 2 clicks of a button,so of course the types of posts have changed and become more chat-like and less documentary/blog like. love it or hate it, that's just the way ALL of the internet is today.
