last month, Amazon.com sold more e-books than real (paper) books.

surprising.

but I can see some real advantages to them:

1. older people who can't see as well don't need to find large print books (which are barely available). all they have to do is click a button and bingo, the font is as big as they need it to be.

2. you don't need good light to read an e-book - the screen is lit.

3. takes up less space, obviously.

4. no one can lose your page LOL

so in a way, its not hard to see why..

for the same reasons why newspapers and magazine sales are down globally the last 10 years, same with real books.
good points:naughty:

I have a p.o. box and use usps often suprisingly... I would like to keep my p.o. box.

Music will always be here somehow.

TV cable can rot in a pit for all I care... I dont have it anyways... I just hook the laptop up and watch hulu, dvds or something lol.

Privacy is gone and that sucks.

As for this internt cloud thing..... this is something I am not very fond of.... I perfer to not have everything open up as the interwebs or saved on the interwebs. I am fine with how it is. I dont need my entire computer on the internet... if I did I would upload it there. Oh and I bet this cloud fee will probably be ontop of the internet fee which would be lame. I dont like it. Now I dont know how this cloud thing works so I am mixed up then sorry.

Books.... I dont really read to often but I would rather read off an old school book then an online book. As for my text books... I dont bring my laptop everywhere so I would perfer a hardcopy.

I dont have a pda or touch phone or any of that crap and I really dont care to have one. I already pay for internet at home, I am not paying an extra fee on my already high phonebill or any other bill for more internet. I hate how a lot of the new phones REQUIRE internet if you buy them, then they charge you another fee for it. I would like a nice phone that wont require me to have the internet... (which they still make.. but not as much and the choices are not that great) I dont want the interwebs on my phone. I have used the internet on phones before and its annoying as crap.

Landlines are doomed... we have cell phones now.

i still have a land line phone.. and i love it.. i cannot take the new tiny little cell phones that cut you off... i even had the old fashion phone in my truck.. you could always count on it.. and it was big and a had a long wire...and big antenna on the roof... they made everyone switch so that one became obsolete.. now i have a tiny cell phone that takes pics and plays great music.. but i still miss the big phone with no static or cut outs and no bells and whistles.

#10. Photography :( whatever happened to the pride and joy of shooting and developing your own pictures without computers and manipulation software

I agree... its not about photography skills.... its about photoshop skills. I know a few people who take crappy photos with extremely nice cameras but photoshop them to death to make them look amazing.... but imo thats a photoshop skill and you still stink at photography. Work on your photography skills with the camera when you take the photos... not with photoshop. I dont think I am good at photography at all, but I try to take good photos with the camera.... not make them good by photo editing them. This is how it is done now though.

1. I use USPS all of the time. It's how I deliver half of my sculptures.

2. I hate online payments! I can never figure out how to get them working properly. Checks are how I usually get paid for my work.

3. I still read newspapers, despite how much I struggle with keeping them together.

4. I hate e-readers, they put so much strain on your eyes! I prefer to have an actual bound book in my hands.

5. I like land lines, it gives me another number to put down on forms so I'm not pestered everywhere I go by salesmen.

6. Digital format can actually take a lot away from an album. Sometimes the artwork is just as good as the music. For example, 10,000 Days by Tool won an award from for the album packaging. Led Zeppelin III has one of the coolest album covers of all time, a rotating disc with cut-outs to allow whoever is holding it to "make" their own sleeve!

I agree on the lack of originality in mainstream music these days, it sucks. That's why I find myself listening to more and more progressive bands.

7. I think gathering around the TV as a family or group to watch a program will always be a part of family life. Crowding around a small screen is kind of ridiculous.

8. That's kind of a scary thought.

9. Thanks to my bizarre tastes, personality, and items of interest, they'll never be able to pin me down.

It's much more relaxing to wait for a perfect shot than sit at a computer and butcher it. I'll post an example later of a shot that I waited for 30 minutes for at The Parthenon in Athens. No one believes that it's untouched by digital editing.

looking forward to seeing the pic:D

I will never ever switch from books, I love them and not just for what is written in them. Some girls dream of their wedding :mr-t: . I've always dreamt of my own library with a swinging ladder, there is just something beautiful about a stack of books and hopefully there are others that agree.

Loss of privacy has become pretty darn scary, but (hopefully) it can still be had by those who choose to cherish it, though I don't think that you should have to work so hard to have it.

The only time I use checks is when I need to pick something up on a thurdsday and have no money, it can be a life saver.

Music can't be killed it touches our souls so I'm sure somebody will evolve the industry to meet the changes. I heard the originality bit my entire life and I'm sure I will has my decendants always hear it, good music comes out all the time and always will it just might not be mainstream and played on the radio. My ipod broke about a month ago and right now my panties are in a bunch and I'm refusing to dole out the money to apple when their ipods never last more than a couple of years. I now know that listening to the radio should be considered as a form torture, I can't imagine who would listen to 90% of it... but it's on the radio because obviously most people do. Will see how long its takes for the panties to unfurl.

The rest of them I could care less about, I've never had cable and never will, I agree mail is a waste, never owned a landline. I will be a little ticked though to have to pay to view my online papers but no big sweat.

Yeah I do miss that about landlines..... no disconnections... it happens to be on my cell all the time at my apartment -_-.... if I had a landline I wouldnt have to worry about it.

I look forward to seeing this photo!! I did a few shoots for a friend of mine who is modeling and I did it on my kit lense, no photo editing and I think they turned out nice. No one believes me that it was kit lense or no photo editing.
