Sports and fitness 2021

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like new balance myself. It seems they actually put some thought into ergonomics and weight distribution. Nikes and Adidas are usually comfortable and light, but have hard and unforgiving soles. I wear dr Scholls on every pair of shoes I have as well.

Also flip flops (we call them thongs here which confuses americans) are very bad for your feet and can cause fallen arches and you walk slightly differently when you wear them which can cause other problems. You should never walk long distances in them, just use them for bumming around the houseand running errands. Here profesional footballers arent allowed to wear them, its actually in there contracts because they are so bad for the feet.
You may wear your version of thongs whereever and whenever you choose, I will not judge you on that!

The uk version of "thongs" is a skimpy piece of clothing that gets stuck right up the crack of one's arse. Obviously i'm not speaking from experience, I read about it somewhere :liar:

I remember my time in the UK, it was fashion for the girls to have them poking out the top of their jeans on a night out, if fishhead0103666 fishhead0103666 wants to go for his walks dressed like that then he wil have something to distract him from his sore feet!

Back to fitness, I have a 14KG kettlebell, this morning I tried the "kettlebell pyramid" where you do 1 push up and 1 kettlebell swing, the 2 then 3 all the way up to 10 and then drop by 1 rep all the way back to 1 of each.
Man , that nearly killed me. I was shocked how out of breath I was. The idea is you time how long it takes the try to beat it next time. I didnt time it but I might try it again on the weekend and see how it goes. Our stage 4 lockdown ends in 11 days but Im doubtful any gyms will be allowed to reopen straight away so have to keep coming up with home workouts until I can hit the iron again.
I do find since ive been working from home a 30min workout before i start and a walk in the afternoon make a huge difference to overall energy and mood so want to keep it up.

I found a lovely little shoe fitter locally by the name of “under the knee”
And the owner helped me pick out a shoe which is the new balance 860 8.5 extra wide

They feel very comfortable, have just enough space, and they even have a little bounce in them.

You'll be like the six million dollar man in those bad boys. You might have to google him by the way, a bit before your time.

Isn’t that the movie where a government or military man was close to death so the government/army spent 6m to bring him back or something?

Hit tv show of the 70's with Lee Majors. He was a test pilot who had a bad crash so they rebuilt him. Bionic legs, one bionic arm, super hearing and super sight. I used to pretend I was him as a kid. Lol.

Ahh I forgot to mention that apparently for all running shoes they only are meant for about 450-500 miles so I’ll be staying at 5 miles a night 5 nights a week to maximize the use I get out of them.

That's of running, for walking you can definitely take them much further.

For the first time since middle school I weigh 208...
