Anyone know a good way to clean out fuel oil... I'm thinking of pouring in a load of petrol and dropping in a match? Anyone know a more neighbour friendly route?

Make some inquiries at your local E.P.A. office and see what they suggest for clean up, just don't tell them who you are/where you live/exactly what your project is.

A soap/chemical to breakdown the fuel oil and something to absorb it that you can safely dispose of or recycle.

Or you could put a wick in it and have an eternal flame.

Honestly, the fuel one would worry me. I'd drop a match in too, lol. Don't know of any other way to get rid of that stuff. I'd also make sure to seal both of them very well just in case. Cut out the middle and make one giant tank/pond out of em! That would be so bad a**. Good luck! Keep us posted with pics and progress too.

I would scrub with soap and water then coat the inside with a 2 part epoxy paint like the kind they use for potable water tanks.

I'll be on there as soon as I figure out a stealth way to steal swimmingpools! The Phantom Pool Thief! Sadly anything 50m by 25m is a bit difficult to sneak anywhere!

I'm torn between doing one for my amazons and one for tilapia (yum yum) and splicing them together into one big 'un. That'll see the pacu alright for a few years!

The fuel tank is gonna be rusted inside, which will be why they wanted rid... So I got some scrubbing and cutting to do. Will 2 part epoxy paint stick to steel?

Two ideas on the pool thing... LARGE stealth helicopter (oxymoran?) or trained moles/shrews (more in line with budget).

Epoxy will adhere to steel, but if the steel can flex the epoxy can crack. check out sanitred and pondarmor (don't know of availability there but check the manufacturer).

Oh the things I could do with a trained shrew! Imagine what you could achieve if you teamed him with a trained polar bear!

They flex quite a lot when you fill them... I'll check out the pond armour and sanitred!
