lookin good, i like the netural look, too bad i just sold all my oak bedroom furnature, i like the look of that stand..., lol wanna come do my kitchen?

Ill get some pics of mine tomorrow the way it sits now. it will give you a really good idea. i have not put on the top cover yet so you will see how it is put together. the cover i am putting on the very top will be very thin. just to block light from hitting my ceiling not to mention you wont even see it being this whole setup is pushing 80" tall. the canopy is 13" tall just big enough for some small doors. just for feeding, nothing more. when it comes to cleaning time i will remove the canopy. its pretty light right now. i will add a hidden handle up top so when i want to grab it and move it down i can just reach over the top and grab the handle to remove. it will give me something to grab a hold of.
here is the last canopy i made, i really wasn't 100% happy with it. just wanted to add more to it. but being it was 8ft long it had some weight to it already. so i didn't want to add.
well it gives you a idea, but that one also lifted up as well. which is why it had to much weight to it.
i will snap some pics tomorrow of the one i am working on. i don't think i will have time to work on it tomorrow. but ill see if i can get some pics.
thanks, I was wondering how to do it... I just want something to hide the pvc piping and stuff on the top of the tank....

its basically 4 sides, the front, and 2 end sides are of the same height. but the back is just a support to connect it. , just make some corner wedges to square it up. and some top supports. don't worry about screw holes for the 4 sides as you can cover them with trim. and then just counter sink your trim nails and fill with a wood filler type putty. it really is very easy
a tip, if you plan to put doors on, assemble the canopy before you cut out for the doors. it will help you square up the door cut outs better. and they wont be off.
Ok this is where i am with the canopy, more to go, still need to get the last 2 doors on and finish the trim. as well as get the top cover on. sink the nails and get them filled, sanded then start staining. not much more to go. but the last of the trim will make a big difference IMO. but these are to just give you a idea of how easy it is to make your own canopy. if your going to do it yourself make sure to add the corner wedges in for support. makes a BIG difference.
all i need to do now is sand and stain the canopy and its done, i will first thing in the morning and get pics.
loods just as bauetiful as your acrylic tank, i didnt even know that you sold it, i knew i recognised the design from somewhere, i looked at one of your earlyer posts of the ray tank... looking good. nice and stable, im sure exacly what you where going for...
