Yes, those fish are stunted but they still can bring you many years of enjoyment! No they aren't perfect, but who among us is? Love them for the fish that they are and take care of them to the best of your ability.
Don't worry about it Brandon. Everyone has to learn. Everyone has to start somewhere. I've never really bought any stunted fish, but I sure did stunt a few myself when I started with discus. Stunted fish will do just fine, they just won't grow very much, or none at all, and it shortens their lifespan some.
I would go over to Simplydiscus.com and check out the sponsors and or breeders and hobbiests that have discus for sale. I know that there are some up in Canada on the site.
one of my discus just died....He started hiding in a corner today. I tried to give it food but it wouldn't eat. I tested my water and nothing has changed. I did a 40% water change just a few hours ago. It had no signs of injury either.
