I have 2 of the same ones you have, i haven't tried to go in to petsmart yet and check.. That would be cool if they do though..
Yes, but that letter is from UPG, Marineland's distributor. It is not related at all to what Petsmart is doing, hence my question.RD.;4890171;4890171 said:Once again.

It shows the models affected (according to Marineland) so whether Petsmart is going to replace EVERY Stealth heater model will most likely be up to them, and could vary from store to store. Only way to find out would be to call your nearest Petsmart & ask.
Yeah, I have about 5-6 at home. They've always worked fine for me though, and I think the original Stealths have a great rep. I don't even know what I'd do with store credit though. Everything they carry is overpriced beyond beliefhbluehunter;4890162;4890162 said:I have 2 of the same ones you have, i haven't tried to go in to petsmart yet and check.. You gonna try and them them to Petsmart? When I called, they said to just bring them in. But I didn't mention anything about the older Stealths. Maybe if I show them the letter from UPG stating the older Stealths should be removed from shelves, they may take them in. Guess it's worth a shot.RD.;4890238;4890238 said:I have several of the old Stealths as well, some 6-7 yrs old, and no problems. But a buddy in town just got a small zap from one of his, when he pulled it out it had a small crack on the backside that he said he never would have noticed had he not felt the voltage/current leak in his tank.
Either way I'm pulling all of mine & replacing them with a different brand, no sense in waiting to see what happens.
