Any ray shot to the chest doesn't have a happy ending. I've heard the barb was around 1o inches. Depending on age of the ray, that could be true. Just with size alone, the wound would be fatal.

From what we've heard, he approached from behind, swimming along the bottom. That means the angle of the tail would have pushed it into his chest right below the sternum, straight into his heart. This is both the easiest way to swim the bottom and the most risky. It leaves your body cavity exposed. It really surprised me to hear he was swimming that way along the reef.

the world is that screwed up that i think the vid will be shown.
news on the tv is like 95% bad stuff.

and i read he was swimming above the ray and there was a camera guy under the ray.
they think it might have felt threatened by that.
and if he was above,all the ray had to do is stick his tail up.
 
His wife Terri is thinking of allowing the tape to be released, being all steve ever said was keep rolling no matter what! and would of wanted people to see:(
 
i seriously doubt the tape will ever see the light of day. steve's partner and the producer of his shows was on larry king and said that he would destroy it as soon as the police returned the tape and that no one needs to see it.

Why make things worse. A great human being died, thats all I need to know. I do not need to see it.

Abd to whoever was saying "leave the rays to the experts", I don't even know who you are, but I know Steve had more experience with rays than you will probally ever have.
 
i also heard that he actually said he wanted it shown. but then again, i doubt that he said much at all after what happened so it probably isnt true, even if it is something that sounds like what steve would say
