I recently lost my hybrid stingray, he stopped eating and was breathing really fast.
Literally as soon as he died n my partner got it out of the tank my pearl stingray started acting weird... he swam on his side and sat over an air stone and his breathing slowed dramatically. Since then he is not eating, in fact, when food touches him or goes near him he freaks out swims away and tries to cover himself.
We treated him with tremazol 5 days ago but no improvement, we dipped him as we didn’t want to put medication in the tank as we have other rays, I actually witnessed his anus prolapse too, the day after treatment there were small worms in his poo but I wouldn’t say enough that would have caused him to be this ill.
Have had him in my tank for around 4months and was previously in a friends tank for about 4months also.
Water parameters are perfect with the obvious nitrate in there at around the 10 mark. 175gallon, he has been sectioned off from my other 2rays for a week now and they are both acting normal eating normal.
We are doing regular water changes, 30% daily minimum sometimes more.
If anyone recognises this as a disease or something I can treat please let me know, was hard enough losing my hybrid, don’t wana lose this lil guy aswel.

Thanks

My guess is internal parasites. Based on your description of visible worms in the stools and the prolapsing anus. I'm guessing tapeworms or some type of flatworm. I suggest a treatment of the entire tank with praziquantel for 10-14 days. Repeat after 2 weeks to treat any parasites in the egg stage of their lifecycle which is immune to the medicine.

Levamisole would be another dewormer worth trying. Treat for 24 hours then remove from system. Repeated 1-2 weeks later.

Good luck

Prazipro isn’t available here in UK neither is levamisole.
Trezamol has praziquantel as main ingredient, even so, I ordered prazipro from states, it wasn’t meant to be here till 7th dec, just checked and it had been attempted to be delivered 5days ago!! But too big for letterbox, I’ll be picking up in morning.
My questions regarding this product are...
Is it safe to use in my tank as a whole? Bare bottom with 2 other beautiful bd rays and a Kieran Malaysian blue arowana, I cannot risk my other fish. Also, is it easy to dose? Are ray safe instructions on packaging?
