Those who were gracious enough to share with all who attended are studying rays for their job or their education, it would not be a good thing for people to publish their hard work as their own for a few bucks. We are going to start a fund to help research of stingrays & when we release the DVD the proceeds will go to help study rays. The Symposium was a huge leap for those who went & I think all of us would not like to see the information abused.
Thank You

I didn't really plan on 'abusing information' but if that's the way it is viewed, I guess so..
I am glad all those who could financially afford the trip and time off can withhold the information.. they deserve it - they paid for it. For those of us who couldn't spend thousands for a 'hobby trip', I guess we can be the 'mushrooms' - left in the dark and fed poop.
Incase you wonder why not many hobbyists didn't attend and the event from a non-zoological standpoint was a flop - It was because of $$$$$.. and now information won't be widespread because of $$$$$. Sweet.
I am just as eager to learn about stingrays as anyone, and share and provide the information in a 'non-hoarding' fashion. I didn't realize it was such top secret information and spreading this information would be taboo.
I understand copyrights and published documents, but I didn't think I would get this kind of reply.
I guess I will just buy a DVD when it's finally released.. Hopefully it will cost less than a few grand - because I would love to help the 'research fund'..
I mean obviously my signature of 3+ years shows that I am not for the best interest of Stingrays.
no offense, just my opinion.
