New tale to tell you all.

so i walk into petsmart.the employee askes me if i need some help. i said yes.
i told the lady i wanted some guppies (they were running a special on guppies tthat week they were .99) so i asked for 15. she asked me why so many and i said i was going to feed them to my catfish.
she suddenly got pale and refused to sell them to me.
She told me i had to by goldfish for feeders and i said i wanted guppies not goldfish.

then she told me that goldfish were more nutritous. and thats why they are feeders.

good ol petsmart. there label on the jag tank says reccomended tank size- 20+ gallons. I think someone scratched out the 1 that should be in front of 20.

Attention petco and petsmart employees!

its a science , not a job!

Don't flatter yourself, selling fish is just a job. :irked:

I work at PETSMART(NO SW) and at least twice a shift i get the question where are your saltwater fish, I just simply say go out the door u just came through make a left and go 4 blocks all of our SW tanks are at the place called PETCO.

That's the exact attitude they were expressing hurts the hobby, when you find employees who aren't willing to be semi-knowledgeable about the hobby it makes a trip to the LFS even for the passionate hobbyist seem like a chore at times. Perhaps if PetsMart and PetCo employees viewed their job as a partial responsibility to the hobby away from their home you wouldn't find as many stores with poorly kept tanks and dieing fish. Further more you would certainly see a curtail in the number of Oscars in 10 gallons and BS of the like if that were the case but, NOPE.. working at a pet store is still 'just a job':shakehead

Know it all ex-employee customers who are happy to whine and complain, wanting something for free, not really needing to explain why they are no longer employed.

I assume you are referring to my post,, so here goes,,, ;)

1- I am more like ''forget it all'' than ''know it all.''
2- I do not need any free-bees. I was simply pointing out some things that bother me. ( for example ,, petco/petsmart employees never give me the amount of feeders I pay for!!)( now I have to breed my own crickets!)
3- Yes it is true petco was not the job for me [LOL] ( I'd rather sell fish that are healthy!)

I just wonder how people have the nerve to not care about the fish they are selling! :irked: ----> slaves to corporate,, free yourselves!
