sorry, i don't have a funny story right now, but i'm going to my lfs pretty soon and i hope that i'll find something funny there. how come people stopped posting? this thread is great, but i've already read all of the posts
Stupid customer tricks

I have noticed this thread going from customer to employee stupidity. That's ok. I think I can shed some light on employee antics. It is the school system. Last week I'm closing out a cashier and one of her columns totalled 1776.
I mentioned that and that it was a good year. Her reply. "Why, did anything important happen then?" After the shocked silence, I asked, didn't you study US history? She said yes, but they stopped at the Civil War, so if was WWII or something later, she never studied it. Now this is a college student who graduated High School Honors Program. So it may not be the Company but the kind of people looking for jobs that we have to choose from.

I had a guy write a paper for me (big mistake). He got an A in Honors English but his writing was barely more than jibberish. I I ended up writing the paper on my own and that was after paying the guy up front.

Maybe it's the Florida school system, or something in the water.
I have two, one about a customer and on about a store.
I was in my LFS just last weekend and a lady came in saying that her 2 Oscars had out grown her 1ft aquarium, she said they couldn't turn around properly anymore (they were 7"-8", I was quite amazed they grow so large and actually looked heathly). So Trev my LFS owner took the Oscars and started to show her appropriate fish for her tank like tetras and guppies.
Heres how the Conversation went down.
women "Ohh no, I wont more oscars, 4 this time".
Trev politly said "Oscars get to big for you tank, if you want more oscars you have to buy a new tank for them".
Woman "once they get to big I'll return them and get new ones".
Trev then said " I'm sorry but I wont sell you any Oscar it is inhumane to keep fish in conditions like that"
The woman replied with "the customer is always right and I want Osacrs"
Trev " I wont sell you those fish and no, the customer isn't always right, they are usually wrong"
Well the woman was not happy and started swearing "You F*%# Ass hole, I'll tell everyone that your store is crap and you treat the fish badly" and so on.
She then began to storm out the store when Trev said "ma'am, your Oscars" and she said "F*%#ing keep the fish I'll buy them else where"
On the way out she stop and said to me "Don't buy fish from here that guys a F*%$n ass hole" and I just said "Women, your F*%#n nuts" and she stormed off mumbeling(I was exspecting to get slapped).
Trevs wife came in and ask what was going on and he said "just some stupid F*%# *****", thats the only time I've heard him curse or even sound grumpy.
Whilst on holiday during Nov/Dec at the GoldCoast I was in a Fish store just checking it out,
cons, dovii, umbree, jags, JD and texas all illegal in SA.
A young couple and two kids were looking at fish when their kids spotted a RTC and wanted it (It was big, like 8" and thats why the kids liked it) and they decieded to buy a tank for it which measured 36"x14"x20"H (a biggish 3ft). The store guy told them it was actually bigger then your average RTC and would grow anymore, and they believe him not knowing any better.
So they guy went to get a bag, whilst he was gone I told them that the RTC got bigger then the tank, and they were like "no he told us that it was full grown". So I call a mate over that was there with me and ask "do RTC get bigger then 3ft?" and he said "Oh s**t yeah, why?". The couple said thanks and walk out the store.
The guy came back and I was standing looking at the RTC (looked really nice) and asked where they went, I said "You were telling them a load of crap so I told them the truth". The guy got angry to me to leave and never come back to the store, I said "fine, I live interstate and your a F*%#n wanker anyway".

i had a lady this weekend that wanted 5 gold fish for her 10 gallon that already had 10 gold fish in it.
I have a good story about a PetsMart employee, it happened when I was going to buy a stand there for my tank. They had a sale on stands and the one to hold 30-37 gallons was labeled for sale at 69.99 so I picked it up and put it in the cart disregarding the sign saying please wait for employee assistance prior to loading into shopping cart (since there clearly wasn't any employees there strong enough to pick it up let alone notice my precense as a customer in their place of employment but anyways). I got up to the checkout and the dude rings it up and says my total was $110 and I said well it's labeled for 70 fool and so he had a manager come over and say it was mislabeled and that was the price for the stand that could hold 20 gallons. Well, if something is marked for a price you have to sell it for that price I informed the manager and they said it was a mistake and it never happens blah blah blah and I shooed the manager away saying that if I do decide to buy it I'll pay the real price. Then this other girl who works there who had went over to stare at the prices when the manager had came over asked me 'well do you want the stand for 110?' and I said 'no, that's alright' and then she asks, 'well how about the stand for 20 gallons?' to which I replied, 'hey thats not a bad idea I'll just fill up my 37 gallon tank 2/3rds the way up'. To my disbelief she replied, 'really?' at which point in time I walked away...

1.Can you help me? Every time I do a water change I lose fish. Ok, what kind of dechlorinator do use? I'm supposed to do something to the water?Well thanks, that explains alot. Now can I have two parrots and three sevs to go with the three I already have in my 55?
2. My 60 tall hex is getting algae, smelling bad and I lost two fish. Should I pour some chemicals in to fix it? Water changes every two months, gravel vac every six months and haven't tested in years. Don't understand why two of my five large parrots died. Well let me have two more parrots and, oh texas cichlids are on sale, I'll take all of them(8). She did not leave with those fish.
