We should have a competition to see who can grow Ed's baby orange heads the fastest...winner gets a fish from Ed....Ed?
I've toyed around with doing something like that, some sort of contest like they do on the discus forums. I'll keep looking into it. The orange heads are looking great guys!

hey Peter... Thanks for the kind words.. I think we both are very lucky to have some amazing fish:thumbsup:

CTU2fan... I promise better shots, including a full tank shot, as I learn more about photobucket etc and the fish grow.. Thanks for the compliments..

Nuthman..Love knowing I;m keeping the squirrel population in good physical shape:ROFL::ROFL: Thanks for the compliments... As to aggression... the only aggressors in the tank are the feisty little rams:ROFL::ROFL: and that's only at feeding time.. They will readily challenge the ohs, twice their size, for a shrimp pellet.. They are definitely two pairs and they both spawned while in my plastic qt container before going into the big tank so that might have something to do with it as well.. The angels and ohs basically checked out the rams when I put them in to see if it was some new type of food or something and now ignore them.. I've never had blue rams before but they are a kick to watch and love the 84 temps of the tank.. We'll see in the coming weeks/months if they are as fragile as some folks think..
I have had bolivians before and love them.. They are much less aggressive than the blue rams and also very entertaining and very hardy.. They do however do best in slightly cooler temps.. I had asked several very knowledgeable folks about keeping them with the ohs. All said no problem except that the temps should be 81/82 at the most and they would love being in a group of 5 or so.. I was only gonna add any kind of ram if I could find beauties.. I found the beautiful blues but no bolivians that I liked and so it was the blues. If I had found the bolivians first and they were stunners I probably would have added them instead and dropped my temp to 82.. So I say go for it and add your bolivians to the oh tank as long as there are escape places for everone in the tank.. I think iot would add another dimension to the tank.. Would love to see pic s of course:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:.. Keep me updated.. How does your balzani do with the ohs??? If I can convince someone who knows who he is, I might have a chance to add some to the tank?? Do you do the cooling down period??
I also watch your posts on the other forums so I know you are up to your eyeballs in eartheaters etc.. and for an addict that's a very good thing..:ROFL: Sue:D

Hi harvick29 fan... Some of the dw I had from previous tanks and some of the manzanita branchy stuff came from a vendor on this site.. His name is Sean and he goes by Spunjin.. You should be able to find his threads.. but I would pm him if I were you.. He's great to deal with.. HTH Sue:D

I would watch your adult angel with the dime sized angels. I tried putting some dime sized with an older angel and the dimes were dead in a week. I was probably because i only got two of them, but i would stilll watch for an aggression towards the dimes until they get a little bigger

Susie~

The Balzani is in the 75 with my Geo sp. "Nieva" (Steiny Variant). Come July I will remove him for July/August for as cool as the basement gets (about 69 - 71 Tank Temp). He is a pussycat, and the Nieva while aggro, pay him no mind, he is the biggest one (4-5").

I have not Moved the OH's yet, I have a 125 coming from Rallysman soon, and I want to do nothing but Geos, Loaches, SD's, BA Tetra's, and Plecos (All SA minus my Beloved Loaches) I want to move the Nieva and switch them with the OH as the aggression will be much more spread out in the 220, plus my Albios are much Bigger then them, but again, pussycats.

My Bolivian Rams are not as colorful as yours (Blues), but I love them to death! I have 4, but am planning on adding another female or 2, got a great source local, who breeds them. I was thinking OH, Rams, and the Balzani in the 75 with the Loaches. The Balzani is really not a issue, if he does not get bugged by the Nieva, no one will bug him. 82 is perfect, as I keep the tank between 80 and 82, depending on the season (another reason to match my Balzani with it's cooling season, the warmest time for that tank) I have the rams with a school of 10 Corys (Panda and Flag Tail Panda) right now, and there is only aggression amonst themselves. So you don't have to comment on my derail, Ill start another post! :D

So you say go for the OH and Rams huh? ;)

I may give it a go, I hope to see DaveB this weekend, I may add some more OH's to my group, allowing me to choose a nice lil group for the 75.

Your tank is stunning, actually got me thinking about 1-2 angels for a second! LOL!

Nuthman~

Hi all
Cgronko... Hi.. I actually rehomed the adult angel already as he was being bugged by the angel babies rather than the other way around:ROFL::ROFL: he was beautiful but such a wuss.. so now he can find a mate and have beautiful babies.. but thanks for the tip.. the angels are growing so fast there are some about quarter size now.. Sue:D

Thanks Duckhole for the kind words..

Nuthman.. Thanks again for the compliments..I replied to your new post before seeing this.. GO FOR IT:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: You are gonna love it and so will the fish.. This is by far my most entertaining tank ever... so much personality.. My discus were very regal and beautiful to watch but this tank is just plain fun.. I think the angels work in mine because of the extra height.. I would not add them in yours.. I think it would be overkill.. It's only right that we feed our addictions and have the ohs as the centerpieces of the tanks..:clap:clap:clap Take care and of course pics Sue:D

Hi all... Just a quick note... NEVER underestimate the determination of a breeding pair of blue rams.. I checked the tank and noticed that all the orangeheads were gathered in the right hand side of the tank and all the angels in the rear right... strange as they all usually roam everywhere.. The rams were "herding" the others just like they were sheepdogs herding sheep. It seems the rams spawned in the driftwood and were defending their eggs and what they considered to be their turf... most of the tank:ROFL::ROFL: It's really a riot to see all these fish, more than twice the size of the rams, terrorized by the rams... no one is being hurt of course but it's amazing.. The rams take turns guarding the eggs, turns eating and every once in a while comeout and herd the others to their "designated"place.. I sincerely doubt the eggs will last thru the night but this is just too funny to see.. can't capture it in a photo.. to be continued... Sue:D
