It looks like the one in front is male. Hard to say for sure without seeing breeding tubes but that's what I see looking at them together in profile. It's the shape of the fins and head.

Yeah the head on the front one is growing a bumpy patch that appears like a small nuchal hump as well as being bigger and having longer fins. This is all new to me as far as breeding goes. Previously have only kept specimen fish in a community. Now ive jad to keep changing this setup as well so its more territorially friendly

This is my biggest fish so far... far from a monster but hes about 6 years old and about six inches without the tail. Pushing 10" with it. My daughters goldfish lol

Those are some chunky fish! Not trying to sound rude, but occassionally it doesn't hurt to skip a meal... I've actually read that restricting feedings for a couple weeks with no water changes, follwed by a couple weeks of large, multiple water changes and regular feeding, can trigger spawning - something about mimicing the change of season from dry to wet in the tropics...

Anyhow, I really like your set-up.

A diet and getting them to hopefully spawn would be pretty awesome im just hoping if they do spawn that my bumblebee cats will get all the babies
