Sump and Plumbing for my 535. Need help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man its gonna rain for like 5 days straight
Rain beats snow. I loved it when it rained on winter. Meant the weather was warmer.

Like that here in Florida when it gets cold. When hurricanes come along though...won’t bat an eyelid.
Lol. I’d be freaking out in a hurricane.

Most of the parts sourced. Just need the main piping itself to get the back of this tank plumbed. Picked up some acrylic rods to reinforce the rear top corners and some Weldon 40. Lastly, picked up water based latex paint to paint the back of the aquarium. Hoping to get this all done in the next few days.

I lost count how many trips I made to HD and Lowes...and thats after getting every plumbing parts I needed LOL.

Don't forget ABS/PVC transition glue and maybe teflon tape.

Very nice! Love the union ball valves. When painting the back be sure to run a strip of tape around the perimeter where you dont want it. A roller is perfect and makes a nice brush free finish from inside.

Thank you on the ABS/PVC transition glue. Is any kind safe for the fish?

Will do! Thanks for guiding me here this far. Still have to figure out some minor details.

I use it where you need to permanently bond bulkheads and PVC. Typical brands at the big box stores will do. Weld-on or Christy's will be fine. What PVC prime and glue are you planning to use?

I’m using this. I picked up the abs/pvc transition glue that you recommended.

Forgot about Oatey...that's what I used too. I have found most stores only carry purple color primer. I think so that it's easy to remember to use AND for inspection purposes is what I understand. I ended up ordering the clear primer. Just thought to share just have a rag ready to wipe off drips.
