Their colors are very vibrant because the line has been kept pure. A lot of other breeders carry lines that have been crossed with convicts, diluting their color, so they won’t look as good. But these are the real deal.

To me they look like Amatitlania sp "Honduran Red Points" an arguable location variant of the common Convict

Could I ask where you obtained these two from? I've been trying to get my hands on the real deal as well but most that I see available seem to be the ones that may have been crossed to convicts as they're not as brightly colored as yours. Beautiful fish btw.

Could I ask how long ago you ordered these two from Ken Davis? I'm considering getting some from him as the photos of the pair you have from him is beautiful. When I reached out to him via social media, the photo that he provided of his breeding pair looked nothing like these two you have shown. I just want to make sure I'll be getting the same quality stock if I were to place an order. Thank you.
I got them around the summer of 2021, not sure how often his stock changes, but some of his photos definitely look like his are more convict-like. I’d take the chance and just order them if I were you. They might turn out nice

Wow, those babies are just as beautiful as the parents! Seeing these, I will pull the trigger and buy me a group (he only has young 1/2" to 1" right now). Will update you on how they turn out. I just hope they don't look more convict like, like the photos he showed me (of one of the breeding pairs). He claims his stock doesn't change and that they're the pure ones he's gotten directly from Rusty from way back in the days. I believe him, but just unfortunate that he's not as willing to show photos of exact stock he has available (due to time constraints and him being too busy).
