super green texas

I bought a pair of these fish from petcity in brisbane australia at much reduced price and so far they seem to be trying to breed in my 6x2x2.
The female has gone black and is very defensive of her new home.
I think the consensus is correct they appear to be carpintis escondido.

was it the larger pair or the smaller pair.
the smaller pair were a bunch of about 50 offspring from the large ones in the tank
 
Not sure lach there were only 2 females left and one male in the seperate tank with the Pacu

They are a very pretty fish ohhsweetness Im lucky to have some

sweetness that was my fish.. currently at rocklea i believe.
the solo male in the 8 foot is not the same as the others. then the top left tank was a bonded pair and then there was a pair in the tank right of that one but i dunno lately
 
You got it Lach the solo male was a trade in and is not an Escondido as the others are !!

Sorry to thread hijack but the 2 "Escondido" have spawned earlier tonight look like a few hundred eggs as well as 30 infertile ones. I have a spare breeding tank setup already with bubbler and small pump just in case they are bad parents. Cheers Shane

how big is the pair.. grab some shots in breeding dress. from what i remember it looked amazing
