I think they will eventually realize that bbs is food and start eating. Always works for my african cichlid frys. Good luck Peter and dont forget to show more pics of those lil buggers.....:grinno:

Thanks man....it's just the sand and the bbs are exactly the same color....will give it a few more days and see what happens...

i fed mine with tetramin baby for a couple of weeks, like tiny bits of crushed flake, the parents have always left it for the young, my current batch are around a month old and eating tetra prima, the same as the parents.
i love watching the parents care for the fry, they will pick up what ever food is in the tank, churn it up in their mouths then blow it in tiny particles for the babies to eat

Do they really?? Wow I haven't noticed that... I guess I should pay more attention :D

Will pick up some tetramin or similar flakes tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!

A clip from a couple of days ago....this time with a camera so hopefully it looks less crappy than my earlier cell phone vids.

You can see half of the fry in there. I put the other half back in the tank yesterday and they immediately blended in.

Believe it or now, the fry I left with the parents grew faster than the ones I took out....so there's the experimental proof that parental care is better :D

The cloudy stuff is actually baby brine shrimp from a jar....I really should start hatching this stuff....

Quick update on the little guys - they've been busy eating and pooping :D Really really good parenting and I'm glad I get to watch...
