Thank you for the heads up. I have gotten mixed messages on the bamboo. One said for terrariums but these ones I bought from the pet store which had them fully submerged. I will play better safe than sorry though,

The bamboo will die over several weeks if completely submerged. What you can do is keep the bottom part submerged and the leaves emerged. They are actually great nitrate absorbers. Good luck with the tank project!
