Colorful or extremely impressive
no special needs

ok ppl! please help me

IMO your tank is a little narrow for a silver for life. If you intend to upgrade at some point, then the options open up. Will you be upgrading?

im not sure if rays are legal in MD but if they are they complement aros nicely

i'd get either two oscars or some dats and of course bichirs and some big plecs like panaques

We had to remove our two oscars from the silvers tank because they teamed up on her and started doing some real damage so you might want to be careful mixing the two. Tank depth dosnt really mater IMO for an aro tank and a two foot width would be ok if your tank were longer...say 8 or 10 feet...in other words a 240 would be a better tank for a silver than a 220 ...however your aquarium should be good for quite a while until you have to upgrade. (Anyone on MFK who says that this is definatly my LAST or biggest tank is deluding themselves lol. )

If I remember you said the arow you're getting is 18" already? If so mixing fish will be hard because some larger fish that don't grow up together don't like each other.

But all in all stick with stuff that gets medium sized but not too big. Bichirs, oscars, etc

try some medium sized schooling peaceful fish like tinfoil barbs, red hooks or silver dollars and 1 pleco or flagtail to complete the tank. ;)

Your aro will need to be rehomed pretty soon as it only has half a foot in which to turn around. Rough, large cichlids, birchirs, dats?, and largish fish will do good. But nothing that gets past 18".

Half a foot to turn around???? Now maybe our Silver aro is a bit differant than most....but shes about 15" long and so flexable she could turn around in a 4" wide tank....let alone a 2 foot one.
