have no clue what that salesman was thinking i mean anytime a customer asks about a special fish in the display or getting something for a price other than what is marked exactly on the tank the new person is supposed to ask someone higher up what is ok or not, cant believe he sold your fish out of the display tank

Yeah what is this new guy doing? He just calls his own shots? Sounds like your buddy needs to have a little discussion about authority with his employees

Good news, I just gat a call from my friend with the LFS and he called the guy and is going to pick him up. He said once he explained what happend the guy was very understanding, my friend is going to get him another fish though probebly not another RD. Turns out the guy who bought him liked the way he looked but didn't know anything about RD's and figured he was about the same size as his Oscar so they would get along. So he put my RD in a 90 gal with an Oscar that has been pinned into the upper corner of his tank all day! So it looks like this will have happy ending, for everybody.

As far as a back up plan goes I only have a 30 and 20 gal sitting around and since my buddy has a fish store I thought that would be a better alturnative, live and learn but at least he'll be home on Tuesday in a brand new 90 all to himself.
hmm. welp, now you know in the future, collect cheap tanks from craiglist so this never happens again.

intense story indeed.
something doesnt seem right about it, but all is well now, i guess.

Kinda weird that some new guy can just sell a fish thats in a tank that says not for sale on it. but I guess we will never have all the questions we have answered.

It does sound a little weard, the display doesn't have anything written on it, but still come on. I'm going to stop by the shop after work to see the fish and talk to my buddy. I hate like hell to see the kid get fired but he needs to use some common sense. Hope it's not the case where this kid is taking the fall for someone else, because I can't see not asking before selling it doesn't sound right, I agree. Anyway, I'm getting him back and their internal affare is their business.

Yeah, when a fish is not priced ussually a sales rep has to ask the manager how much to sell it for. Not make up his own prices. The fact he sold him as cheap as he did shows he is new. Also, there is always an understanding that a Display tank is for Display and the fish are not for sale among the employees. Kid sounds like a real winner:screwy: Glad your getting him back man.
