Terrible news... mass death event :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very sad to hear this.....

A very impressive group of monsters there.

Going to get a good scale count on that Dorado just for record?

Thank you for sharing, others can learn from this. In this game of life support redundency is key. I always try to use multiple filters, pumps on systems, even try to use different circuits in the house so if a breaker kicks I don't loose everything. Plan for failure is all you can really do.

Hang in there man - you inspire us, hopefully you jump back up! Take it slow, take it easy, gather inspiration and press on - try to stay positive. A loss like this is tough, but time heals. You got people here that understand and that definitely helps!

I enjoy seeing your monster fish but not this way. Heart breaking.

Thank you all for the kind words, it was truly an unpleasant surprise and I know everyone enjoyed them just as much as I did myself. Worry not, as it's not like I'm going to skip a beat for in this hobby I am already waist deep. it was a delightful experience being able to keep ultra aggressive specimens together with such balance m. Just as one of the fellow MFKers has said, due to them being heavy hitters, the setup was running on maximum gear and couldn't afford to have any mishaps. Thus when this accident came to be, it proved to be fatal.

Feel free to examine the dorado scale count and the Hoplias mala? Pore count as I never understood how to properly identify those either. going to move my golden rtc, Channa diplogramma and FRT into this tank now.

Channa..... I'm glad they're illegal here. I'd have half my basement dedicated to those amazing creatures.....

I only wish I knew what I had when I kept them back before the ban.

The scale count on the Dorado - something youd have to do in person, wayyyy to hard by the pics. I can't even see any pores on the Wolf in the pics. The Scale count for the Dorado would be the number of scales on the lateral line.

I'm confused on wolf IDs as well. To me there's 2 kinds - the humpbacks and the ones that aren't. AKA - the ones I want and the ones I don't....... lmao.

The wolf being so white, I can only see two pores in one picture in one side of the jaw. So I can't help. As for the dorado it's hard to make out the LL in some pictures and the others I can't count up to the dorsal because the shade in the back.

Tragic loss. True /\/\onsters. Gotta be strong!

That was the pic I could see two in, the width between them I'd go for mala. The dorado I can count ten up to the rear of the dorsal before I can't count no more scales due to the shade on the back where the scales are small and can quickly add up.

I'm very sorry for your loss!
