I have a electric blue Texas cichlid around 5 inches and was wondering if anyone knows the sex.

Looks a lot like the male I got from Jeff Rapps View attachment 1378795
Do you have a vent photo of him. I want to see what the vent looks like. The Texas I got apparently all the ones in the tank were breeding pairs at one point so I don’t know if mine is a male or not. Two of the Texas was noticeably different in size and easily were males

Sorry no vent pics, he grew the fastest of the group of five I got, and killed off three of his siblings. A friend of a fellow MFK member has him now.

By Electric Blue Texas (new more catchy trade name). I assume its Herichthys carpintus.
Here is an adult male.
