Quick little update. I polished the right side of the tank the same as the left, so it looks even now. I'll probably go over the whole thing a few more times and do the sides and the top, just because.
I also managed to put together a little sump, a 50g hexagon tank I had sitting around. It's from 1975 but it held water last year. I went ahead and gobbed silicone over all the existing seams just because. Some say it won't stick to old silicone but it will stick to glass and I completely covered the old seams encapsulating them and sealing onto untouched glass with the new silicone. Not to mention it won't be nearly all the way full, so lets hope it is ok. I also ordered a small Quiet one pump which will pump the water out of the sump and back into the tank. I threw together a ghetto little stand for it so the pump doesn't have to lift the water 5' else it would cut the flow down to nothing. I also got some egg crate to make a little stand I'm going to put inside the sump in order to lift the pump even higher. I am shooting for less than 3' head height.
I've attached a quick camera phone shot, was to lazy to get out the DSLR.
My GF just got back from Gulfport and brought me back 3 pieces of driftwood that I am 99% sure should be good. One of which as you can see if 7ft long, WIN!
Also a shot of the sump, it's got a few scrubbies and 4 Bio Wheel Filter Cartidges, I no longer use them in my HOB's so I may as well get some use out of them. Plus the carbon is good because I always use it when I first start a tank, especially since I am polishing it with Novus. I'll clean it well but you can never get it all out. So it should wipe out any excess chemicals.
You can see one of the Stealth 250w heaters as well.
