The 2262 is great at mech, but not as effective at bio as the 2260. However, as an all around use, it can handle longer intervals between cleaning without the use of backup filters compared to the 2260.

Makes perfect sense with the higher fow rating.

Heh funny I just got my fx5 in today. So for now that means I have all on my 120 1 AC110, Xp3, 350 magnum (soon to be moved), and my fx5... Ah the joy of over filtering. (Plus I have 1 AC70 power head going in there.)

Sounds like me. On my 180 I have a Fluval FX5, 2 Xp3's(Biological),2 AquaClear's 110(mechanical), and the AquaClear 900 powerhead. And yes it is a joy to over filter.:screwy:

Guess I must bow to the filter gods finally !!! :):)
And I thought 4 Emp. 400's, 2 xp2's, and a recently added 304 Fluval was enough on a 125. :eek::eek::D
Guess I'm gonna have to drill it for the sump and add another 1000+gph to keep up.

Assuming I can afford it all, I might have a 75 running on an eheim 2076, and a 20 gallon sump soon. All that for a snail tank. Few can beat my 150's old filtration. The 2080, 2262 and ac110 is a huge amount of filtration for a tank.

:D:D:D
If not for the surface agitation on mine, I'd have to stick my hand in the tank to get it wet. Otherwise I'd think the tank drained and the fish became "flying" fish it's so clear.
Except on the off chance they poop. Then it becomes (less) clear that they are in water. :D:D

I did, in fact, get that 75 gallon, and it is being filter by a 29 gallon w/d sump and an eheim 2076 pro 3e. Very clean tank, but the tank is always dirty due to the snails.

Thanks to Craigthor! Today I received an eheim 2262, and now have the most over filtered, and understocked 150. The beast is great, running awesome! The tank currently has 1 royal knife, 1 ornate bichir, 1 adonis pleco, 1 bruno pleco, and some commons... filtering are, an Eheim 2262, 2080, and 1 ac110, plus live plants.
:eek: Is there a bow down emoticon ?

Funny thing though, as Stephen mentioned before, Eheim is German and the 2262 never came out in Germany :confused:

I am looking at getting a used 2260 on ebay now uses a lot of power though...we'll see...

I have 2262,2260 and 2250 i love these canisters, my last sep up a 2250 but instead i replaced the pump for a 1260 on a 75 gallon, it was too much flow so i went back to the 1250 pump, i like these filters because you can interchange the pumps. I been looking at the tunze recirculation pump model 1073.20 to put it on my 2260, it has the same flow but consume half onf energy, i want to know what you guys think about this idea.
