THE BEAST! Eheim 2262 now up and running.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
kinda on topic.............. i bought a 2260 on Ebay for a bargain price........... the pump looks like it may have been changed as the cover lid appears to have been trimmed to house it. The stickers has been removed, is there any other way to tell if its been upgraded to the 1262?

Here is my pic of the 1260 versus the 1262 pump cover or volute

Notice the difference in the center hole. But there is also a difference in the wattage of the two pumps. That would have to be verified with a clamp on amp meter or similar device.

Here is a picture of the 2 pumps side by side

Hope this helps, Dee

Amazing help, thank you, Dee! Even though I didn't ask, I might need it soon ;)

No still up and running, but going to take it down in late April.

Don't want to, but have no choice, I may try to set it back up in my parents basement, but not 100% sure yet.

The thought of moving it gives me nightmares.

That's with no media in the filter-full of media it's probably about 600 gal per hour depending on the head.

You guys realize that in a closed canister that the "head" is negated by the gravity feed effect right? As long as the highest point of both the intake and output tubes are the same the pump dosent have to fight gravity, just the tubeing (length/bends), the media and overall design.

Hi Wyld,

I assume the 2262 is holding up well. Usual Eheim quality? I'm curious about the noise level (feel free to compare it to other Eheim models). That's a monster pump in there...

Thanks, HarleyK
Mine is literally silent. Serious

These filters are designed to run continuously for years. All I do every other month is rinse it out. GIANT BB colony. Love it.
