Anything wrong with Genx? I didnt choose them, thats what came with the turnkey system I bought.

they are a bit noisy, they let off heat and they use a bit of electric.... reeflos are straight out the best imo.. no heat, no noise, and they pump out double the gph at half the watts. the price on them is also great.. buy a reeflo and sell those 2 pumps.

nice tank, imagine what the pbass will think when they are in there so big even my owner can fit in there HAHA NICE

What exactly is a Reeflo?
My tank has been setup since October and the water is still white. The pet shop says that alot of people are complaining about the same thing.
As for your tank - it looks awesome!!! How heavy was it? What kind of heating are you using? I think that limestone and some other rocks raise ph so hopefully you don't have any of those in there. Can't wait to see the finished project!

That sounds like a nice pump. These Genx do have quite a hum, I will def. be looking into the Reeflo units. Thanks for the heads up!

It was fairly heavy. The tank wasnt so bad maybe about like a refrigerator. The stand on the other hand was quite a beast. It took four pretty good sized guys to get it in and all 4 were struggling pretty good. Yeah there are 3 med. pieces of limestone in the tank. Holey rock tied to the driftwood to keep it down. It will be coming out shortly though, the top of the tank is keeping the floating wood from drifting around.

Im kinda scratching my head at the moment though. One of the two overflows stays twice as full as the other, and this happened just suddenly. Ran all night with both overflows at about the same level, then this morning suddenly one of them just filled up almost to the top as if the drain couldnt keep up with the overflow. I immediatly shut it down and started looking for an obstruction in the drainage and found nothing. Thought it might be due to an out of level issue, wasnt the case. So I still dont know why this thing ran just fine for 18 hours then all of a sudden decided one of the overflows would run so full. :screwy:

Thanks guys really appreciate all the comments. This thing really is a beast. Ive basically worked and tweaked on it for 3 full days and probably will mess with it atleast another half a day tomorrow or tuesday before im comfortable with it. I took all the cheesy tie wraps off today and put on metal hose clamps. I feel alot more secure about it now. If any of you guys decide to get a tank of this nature a word of advise: dont even consider trusting just tie wraps to hold the flex tube on. I didnt have any disasters but it was one waiting to happen.

 :confused:I still cant figure out this overflow thing. The right side overflow just wont go down. Both sides are flowing at about the same rate but the left overflow is only about 6 inches deep where the right overflow is about 20 inches deep. Almost like ive got a stand pipe in it, but I dont. Ive taken that drain assembly completely apart and there are no obstructions anywhere in it. Really kinda got me baffled. I dont even know if its ok to run it like that. I guess as long as it doesnt get so high that it isnt overflowing anymore it will actually work in my favor to quiet it down. But if there is risk involved with it running that way then I really want to know what to do to fix it. The only variable that I see is that the overflow that is giving me the issues has a much shorter drain hose from the bulk head to the sump than the left overflow does. But it ran for 18 hours with both overlows at the same level before this started. ./shrug

Nice tank Frodo :D But 4 feet is a bit short in length :D :D:D

J/K ;)

Cannot wait to see it running well :)
