Welp, as of last week I finished my thinning. Bringing down my bass school from 13 to 7. The trade off is the water looking crystal clear even after a week without a change and the new hierarchy and space had made all the cichla grow and color up even further in almost no time! Especially the two Rio Negros I got from Wes back in October. Here’s an Update.

There all looking awesome. Nice aquascape too. How big are they now do you think?

Thanks so much! The more I toss around the wood during water changes the more natural it ends up looking haha. But I know the Orinos are the smallest, coming in at around 8" [even though they eat the best] so the xingu and smaller broko are probably about 10", the bigger broko around 11", and the tems just shy of a foot Id say

Man they are all looking awesome. Those teams are killer
Appreciate it a lot bro. Bass are definitely still my favorite fish Ive ever kept. Never had a fish reward me so much for the care level put in.

yeah when they were small I was like why not itll give me more options later but even at 12" they take up a lot more space than most 18" fish and they have a reeeeaaaal heavy bioload. My tanks a 9x5x2 with a 75g sump so around 600 gallons total

yeah Im waiting to add an azul or two and a pinima but other than that its fully stocked. I still feel like the tanks ganna be too small for them for more than another year or so definitely gatta get them more room soon
