The MONSTER Fluval G series!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No comparison! Get the Fx5 for a 150 gallon.

It's going to be epic. Plain and simple. I just realized that Fluval and Aqualcear are related! Hagen=Best

muhahahahaha!

Been waiting for a while to get my hands on one and at last,
a filter that monitors water quality and allows some aquarium maintenance planning a little more savvy than calaendar based water changes.

Reliability Centered and Preventative Maintenance methodology has final come to the world of fishkeeping.

Let me be clear to all; I have an open mind about this new aproach to filtration and plan on doing a very detailed analysis on it, from packaging, documentation, ease of set-up, to sensor array precision and performance-the whole gamut!

You can follow the testing progress on my blog. No holds barred, the truth on the G-Series Hydrotech will come out!

You have my interest. Thanks Jonathan.

ONCE AGAIN ITS NOT ALL ABOUT FLOW RATE

ONCE AGAIN ITS NOT ALL ABOUT FLOW RATE

Sorry sir. Ill make sure i cover everything then , since you seem to be one of those people that wasted their money on a overpriced product.

When buying a canister filter , the best things to look for are?

Gph.
Rated Gallons
Media space
Extra features
reliability
then factor the price into it...

and actually gph does play a big role.... i dont know what your talking about. A canister is only as good as your turn over rate. if you have a tank with low flow rate , your canister is barely working its potential. The derbis does not get blown around enough to get picked up.... Thats why people have powerheads to push the crap into the canister filter .... Hook up an fx5 intake on one end and output on other end and boom , derbis is blown all the way from one end into the intake.... WHY? because it has good gph. i could understand your arguement with a sump or a wet/dry but this is different.

rated gallons , this one is just simple. Buy a filter that does 500 gallons or one that does 150? Wait wait thats not all , you pay double the cost for the 150 one! Which one would you take?!

Media space .... lol really? have you taken apart a fluval g ? i think the ac100 has more media space , lmao it has a couple cartriges not even as big as a magnum. Fx5 wins here too.

Extra features. The fluval does have some good electronic parts about it , but honestly? They are useless. I dont care about the flowrate of my canister , if i keep it clean with regular maintince i wont ever have to worry about it. The features that the fluval g displays are things i already know and take care of on a weekly basis.. The fx5 has an auto drain system, that makes my weekly things easier and actually is usefull..

Reliability ... haha how many people on here have fx5's? isnt that enough? I had one and yea it broke :( but man i dont trust anything with to much electricity in it. What happens if the board on the fluval breaks? then you just have any over priced fluval 405 , wait actually it would be more comparable to the 3 series wouldnt it?

IDK man , not trying to be a douche , i was just sooooo excited for this product and i was waiting in line to buy this with cash ready , once i saw the specs on it i was the most dissapointed ive been in a while as far as filtration goes..

im sure it filters a 150 gallon excellent. Im sure it does an amazing job and is really cool ....

but then you could have 2 fx5s on a 150 gallon .... for one fluval g
