the most boring fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
most boring fish ive had is my clown plec. before the BN plec stole his cave, i saw my clown about once every 2 months. now i see him once a week. now, i would only buy one if i didnt have any caves, just a few rocks pieces of wood and plants, because as of now my clown plec was a waste of $7.

I felt the same way until i seen a 15+ fish school of 10-12" anableps anableps at Newport aquarium. Watching them jumping for crickets in the tree above there tank was pretty neat.

Plus they have 4 eye's and left or right handed genitals. Which is oddly neat. But they are a rarity in the live bearer group.

Hmmm, that is rather interesting, they exclusive surface feeders thus need for extra visual acuity?

jack Dempseys. i never see them swimming around, only staying in one spot,

What's with the Raphael hatred? Just because you don't see him doesn't mean he isn't frickin' awesome. I just think of that spiky ridge and those snappy hunting movements and feel like dancing. Okay, maybe an exaggeration but still. It's worth sneaking out in the middle of the night to see him hoovering the gravel...

my raphael catfish was the most boring fish ive ever kept, it would wait until food came into its cave and then eat it, it eventually it got so fat that it got stuck and i had to cut open the cave to get it out, it survived, i eventually had to give him away because my lfs wouldn't buy him from me lol

Out of the fish I've kept:

Oscars
Convicts
Bluegills
River Chub
Corys
Mollys
Guppys
Neon Tetras
White Clown Minnows

Least entertaining: Bluegills, they hardly ever move

Most entertaining: Tie between Oscars and Convicts. They both seem to be highly intelligent and have their own personalities.
