What kind of chiller would I need to keep my 55g outdoor pond at 54-64F

Would a 1 HP Chiller be sufficient?

This isn't the best place to ask that...

Why not, when I've asked in the correct place and do not get an answer, I find someone that is doing the same setup as me and I ask them for advice.

idk it all depends on your temp fluctuations...it will come down to trial and error...

thanx and ya i knew how sensitive they were/are...thats why no one can keep them...maybe they will start now that they see that it isn't hard...

i feel that all fish are the same in difficulty of care...all fish need clean water, lots of good food and more then enough filtration...just comes down to the temp requirements of the indivigual fishes...

I use a 1/4hp chiller in a 55 gal aquarium. It has no problem keeping the temp at 50 degrees F; it would easily drop the temp more. The room temp is usually around 70 degrees F. I don't know whether it would be enough to cool a 50 gal pond outside when the temperatures hit summer time highs but 1/4hp should work most of the year. 1hp sounds very chilly... somewhere I have a chart that tells how much of a temperature drop you can expect with different size chillers and different size tanks. I'll look for it.
