very cool. when i use to live in canada my mom had a garden like that in our backyard. we grew lots of cucumber, carrots, tomatoes and some kind of melon. lol

I think it's always been clay. If you get a shovel and just try to dig, you could get maybe 9 inches down, lol. But good old tiller does the job for me, lol.
Might have to try. Near the house though I think the people before us put like 50 pounds of gardening soil though. When planting some flowers, I basically just dug witgh my hands.
