Rob i commend you on your new aquisition........keep us posted.Good Luck Bro'
Are you gonna start calling me ''grasshopper'' Yakuza-san?

So I found where Im getting the cobras from, and Im gonna be putting in the order for them this week to arrive next week. I decided to only get 3, dont ask me why, I just liked the sound of it. Ive got Brian at Ocean Blue working on rounding up 5 H. psittacus for me (at a killer price).Im rounding up some lighting little by little, one piece at a time, as Ive decided to do a little bit of planting in it. I plan on using 80lbs of schultz aquatic plant soil mixed with 60-80lbs of eco-complete planting substrate with 20 lbs of small gravel mixed in. Im also on the lookout for some nice big pieces of wood, pref a mangrove root section, or might go on a collecting trip 90min away to get a bunch of manzanita branches with my boy peepa. I think I should start doing a makeover on the stand like soon, cuz I would like to start cycling this bitc# next week.

looks nice..cant wait to see it finished..

Make sure he gets you some wild caught parrots, trust me on this...;). MUCH better looking! Still think you should go for the Caquetaia myersi....100%....they will look superb wit the parrots and the cobras....;).

Im sure they wont be wild caught, but it will satisfy the jonez for now till I put aside enough quarters to get them from Rapps (like 3-5 weeks in my line-o-work). I checked the caquetaias and they are sharp lookin', but I dont really want anything even related to an umbee. Thinking more like a vieja sinspilis or vieja zonatum trio .I feel like a cichlid snob sometimes, like no LFS could possibly produce the fish I look for. Having fish shipped gets pricey. My stocklist is nearing 500$ quick.

So today I bought 3 --2to2.5'' prochilodus, and 3- 2'' vieja sinsipilum- from Brian at Ocean Blue. I put them in one of my 60g planted tanks till I have the 240 going and to grow some. Already in the tank were 2 4-5'' c.svenis I was trying to grow and hopefully pair up. I didnt even think about the little fish I was putting in. As soon as I did the pikes were just on the hunt, stalking the little prochilodus like feeders. I had to take the pikes out and place them in this 29 I have on the porch with some little cons in it. The bigger of the 2 actually got a hold of one of the flagtails, but I intervened. Had to rip out a bunch of java moss and driftwood pieces to catch the little bastards. Came real close to losing 60$ in new fish in a few minutes. What a dumba$$ I am sometimes.

Vieja, Excellent Choice. Can't go wrong with Synspilum.
I've got and aquaintance who just got his Parrots through
Rapps with the same group order that I was in, They weren't
as big as what he has them listed as. He shows them listed as Wild.
He ordered the 6-6.5" and they were more along the line of
4.5-5". They are really nice looking just so you know they
may be a little smaller than listed. (As mine were)

Thanks for the vieja nudge shadow.... Are they fast growers??
