My Zonatus and Syns went from 1.5-2" to 4.5-5" in bout 4 months.
I don't get to feed them like I should, sometimes they only get fed 1 a day.
If you feed 3 times a day they will grow faster than that even. They can reach 14 to 16 inches.
I just picked up a group of Argentea from Rapps.
 
hey shadow you doin st. louis group orders? youre killin me! just kiddin its been tight around here but if ya do any more give me a yell i may have some extra layin around. ive had my eye on a 8 in pair of syns locally just tryin to talk the guy down a few bucks. tryin to decide which tank to put them in. you should be happy with viejas rob very nice fish. how bout some pics of your new purchases?
 
Did an order through that LFS that I deal with, me, owner and a couple of other customers of his.
I wish I had gotten some of the Parrots that he had. (Rapps)
May have to talk him into another one for them. If I do I will
let you know.

Yeah Im also likin those zonatus, nice lookin fish. I was thinkin I would have to order viejas, so I was more than happy to pay 7$ a pop, let alone find them. He also had some blackbelts for 7$ (2'') but I gotta take baby steps, Ive never kept viejas. Ill get some pics up tonight.

If you do get some more Viejas, go with zonatus...probably the best lookin of the viejas...lol. LOVE THEM! Disappointed you don't want to mess with the Caquetaia myersi...nothing like umbie...much better in my opinion! ;) How are the pikes coming though? Were you able to score some from Ken? Rapps has marms now....;)

Got a bro throwing together a group order with either Jeff or Ken, Ill let him decide then buy accordingly. If he goes Rapps im gonna hafta get a vittata with the 3 to 5 marms. Good idea or no? Also an update on my new fish. The littlr viejas are doing killer and growing nicely, the 3 prochilodus (50$ worth) were systematically killed off 2 nights apart from each other. Im thinking I have a disgruntled Distochodus.
 
I'd get more vittatas....you're gonna love them and regret not getting more of them...;). Three vittata, four marms...seperate tanks...lol. The marms at the same size could pretty much fit the skinnier vittatas in their mouths....sorry about the prods....:(
