O, and if you want a tank but are afraid of kids messing with it, just get something that bites. Tell them if they are caught messing with it, they have to stick their hand in there for a minute and see how that works out ;)

I teach in a portable building (triler trash!! lol) and space is limited, otherwise I'd love to have a tank at school. As it is now, I have 2 chinchillas in there (adopted them from someone) and when the kids wanted to pet them and aksed me if they bit, I told them 'well, you are aware that have teeth...go for it and find out'. Turns out they give a couple of light warning bites, then chomp down pretty hard

HAHA, you're right about the chinchilla biting thing. Mine's drawn blood before. I'd probably get something colorful for my art room, you know, to inspire the kids with the colors and shapes. I'd really like to get a tokay gecko , since they have pretty colors, but my day gecko will probably still be alive by the time I'm teaching. A payara or red-bellied wolffish would be fun for a fish tank. But I digress.

You guys are making me want to teach art even more now.

That's funny!!!!

you should go for it, it really is fun. Granted, it has its moments...but as long as there's a happy hour somewhere, you'll find a way to go on :)

I looked at the link to your wire sculptures... Incredible!! I'm very impressed!!

I haven't done much with wire sculpture, but I really want to try it out. Any suggestions?

I'll start a collection for a coffee pot and a microwave from the early 80's.

DONE!

It's funny, all the kids seem to know instinctively to keep there hands out of Snappy's tank... :)
