Why not start with stuffing the food with pellets to get them used to it

So this is what is going on this morning, sorry cell phone pics are awful

Koliba, a bit more color and pattern showing. The water it came in was pretty foul and I thought it would have issues but it seems to be adjusting well.

The endli has a bit of tan and the bars are a bit darker. This one had pretty good looking water but it came in with a bit of a raw chin, broken first finlet, and cloudy white eyes.

The eyes still look cloudy, lots of water changes going on, hope it clears soon.

Watching the behavior, the endli is a bit snappy. Seen a few times where it bites at the koliba. The koliba has been eating like a champ but the endli has really not shown very much interest since the first day when it ate a few small pieces of shrip meat. I just get a feeling the cloudy eye makes it a bit wary and it holds back from roaming the tank much. A bit disappointed so far.

This koliba is a bit slow to color up but really good personality. The last koliba I had (the jumper) was pretty jittery and easily freaked out and darted around the tank at full speed. This one is mild, calm and not easily startled. Like it a lot!

Still no real color pop yet, they both are bland. The sand in the main tank is a bit darker so once they move I think they will improve. Will tryfor more pics as they color or progress.

Mine didnt eat for probably 6 days. Its good that the koliba is chowing down. They'll definitly be happier in the 300. Dod you start the parasite treatment yet ?

I was waiting to see how the fish did with eating and healing up before the parasite treatment. Usually the fish totally go off eating with the treatment. Right now it just lots of water changes so they have clean water to heal up any ammonia burn or scrapes from shipping. Ive been doing 40% daily with all waste and food getting cleaned up. These guys should heal up fast.

I really like the personality of the koliba. Like I said this one is calm and easy whereas the last one was easily startled and would dart around the tank at full speed.

This morning I came in to the shrimp put in last night all being gone but not sure if the endli got any because the koliba was eating most of it before lights went out.

A little aquarium salt will facilitate the healing process as well.

And you're right about the kolibas. They're almost as impressive as their cousin, the PBB, without the slightest hint of attitude.

Thanks, nice to know about the koliba. My current bichir are a weeksii and teugelsi who are calm and easy. The Koliba seems like it will fit in fine with them. Not so sure about the endli, but it is just so wicked looking, I just hope not the tank bully.

So I need to name these two guys...

The last Koliba I had was named Kolibasaurus Rex or Rex for short. I cant use the same name since the other one jumped :( While very dinosaur looking it really reminds me more of the Raptors in Jurassic Park 3. But Raptor seems a bit cheesy of a name.

The endli is a beast, that is built like a tank. So maybe Tank or due to the mouth full of teeth and jaw set I was thinking 'Under Bite' or something tough like Bruiser, lol. Basically anything you would name a bulldog.

All my fish get named and most are more comical than anything. Example my Pearsei named Porkchop, Nessie the weeksii, Tweedle the Teugelsi...

So if you guys have any ideas throw them out there.
