thats my tank currently as of today. and dont have a test kit if thats what you mean.

No, not a test kit. What I mean is that a lot of people estimate their actual water volume is the total, in your case 110 gallons, minus the volume displaced by the decorations and the bodies of the fish.
You also have water missing so that needs to be added to the loss of water volume.

That oscar with HITH is going to die unless you can do weekly water changes, twice weekly would be better but weekly would be the minimum needed to try and help the fish recover. The poor thing is screwed unless you can do that.

the 2nd pic is the one with the HITH, i know he isnt looking god ( his head isnt but he acts fine ) i want to do everything i can to help him

or i may just get rid of the texas and both oscars and 1 jack dempsey and just get 1 severum. sound fair?
yeah and get 4 geos...

yeah man those oscars dont look healthy at all =S the only thing that's certain is that a change has to be made. Honestly If I were you i'd try to find somebody looking to upgrade and downgrade from a 110 gal to a 75 gal, that way you can keep it relatively full and give your fish a fighting chance. Maybe get a single male GT, a smaller breed pleco, and some dithers - but with your current filtration for your 110

He can't look after 2 oscars properly, what hope would four far more sensitive fish have. Most geos need pristine water quality as far as I am aware, which he cannot provide because he cannot do weekly/twice weekly water changes.

We are trying to help him by advising on cutting stock so his water quality won't suffer too much with fortnightly water changes, why would you advise him getting rid of fish just to fill it back up????

There is no point in reducing the water volume (going to a 75), just to pack it with fish again. The same issues will occur, just in a shorter period of time because the chemicals are not being diluted.

Reducing the stock in the current set up is the only sensible answer to keeping his water quality at a relatively normal level until he has the freedom to do weekly or twice weekly water changes.

Those fish in the video seem to be breathing very heavily. I don't keep many cichlids though, so maybe it's just me.

LBF, I get that you like your fish and that you want to keep them, however you are not in a position to take care of them properly. It doesn’t matter why you can’t, you can’t at this time. What you are doing to that Oscar is cruelty’ you are letting it suffer. You are responsible for the care of these fish and you are not doing what needs to be done. I have read a lot of your threads and I understand you are doing the best you can right now, but at this time the best you can offer is not good enough. My son is a couple years younger than you with similar disabilities, being disabled or having one or more disabilities does not give you the right to mistreat any living thing and you need to stop using that as a reason you are not doing what you should. I’m not trying to be harsh, just trying to be straight with you.
I have a couple of suggestions that might help you if you will actually do any of them,
Your biggest problem is not changing your water enough. Granny not letting you do it is not an excuse, think of other ways to do it. For example you probably only have 80 gallons of water in your tank, if you were to do a 25% water change that would be 20 gallons so do something like
Week 1 change 25% of water = 20 gallons – Granny already okayed
Week 2 change 25% of water = 20 gallons buy 20 gallons of distilled water at Wally world or dollar store, will cost you $20.00
Week 3 change 25% of water = 20 gallons – Granny already okayed
Week 4 change 25% of water = 20 gallons buy 20 gallons of distilled water at Wally world or dollar store, will cost you $20.00
So for $40.00 you’ve changed your water each week, I know you have the money as you go out drinking and buy cigarettes.
You need to down size your stock as much as possible, until you are in a position to purchase more filtration and the supplies you need for them. Get the two Oscar and the next two biggest fish out, give them away or take them to the pet store. I too love different types of fish swimming in my tank but not at the cost of their health.
I know you feel sometimes like we don’t understand that you are trying, it’s not that, I understand you love these fish and are trying to do your best but sometimes in life your best is not enough. That’s not to say in a year you won’t be in a position to have the fish you want and to keep them like you should.
I’ll give you an example, I love Arrowonas always have, my biggest tank is a 55 I cannot have one in that size so my choices are to upgrade the size of my tank, or not to get one. I don’t have the room at this time for a big enough tank, nor do I have the time to maintain another tank properly. So as a responsible adult who loves most living things I don’t have one.
I really hope you understand that the fact you are doing the best you can or that you want to take care of them the right way doesn’t excuse the fact that you are mistreating your fish and that is just flat out wrong.
Sorry for the essay style response I was on a roll.
